Las Vegas, November 09, 2022 – Siena Italian Restaurant hosted the 15th Annual Women United Suit Drive Luncheon on Wednesday to honor members and volunteers of United Way’s Women United who, dedicate their time and resources to the cause. During the annual event, Women United members rally the community to donate new and gently used women’s professional wear to distribute to local agencies with return-to-work programs. The event unites female leaders across Southern Nevada to empower women returning to the workplace by helping them prepare for job interviews, enter the workforce successfully, and achieve financial stability. This year’s drive collected a record-breaking 6,995 professional items including suits, dresses, shoes, handbags, and jewelry to support agencies such as: Catholic Charities, Dress for Success, Goodwill, Tech Impact, Jobs for Nevada Graduates, Signs of Hope, and St Jude’s Ranch.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Finest Honored at Annual Gala

Las Vegas, October 21, 2022 – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation hosted its 9th annual “Sheriff Salutes the Best of the Badge” Gala Friday night at the Wynn Hotel. Each year at the event, the LVMPD honors its officers for distinguishing themselves in the line of duty. These brave men and women are dedicated to saving lives while risking their own, and their dramatic and harrowing stories earn the top officers a commendation. Among these are: the Medal of Valor, the Unit Medal of Valor, the Preservation of Life Award, the Medal of Honor, and the Purple Heart Award.

Restaurant Hosts Second Fundraiser for Las Vegas District Attorney Steve Wolfson

Las Vegas, October 10, 2022 – As Election Day draws near, political candidates are counting on fundraising events in the final push for donations and votes. Once again, Siena Italian Authentic Trattoria co-owners, Antonio Accornero and Chef Giancarlo Bomparola, hosted a VIP event at their restaurant Monday evening as a fundraiser for the re-election campaign of incumbent District Attorney, Steve Wolfson. Attendees included prominent Las Vegas lawyers, judges, and business owners – a sign of the admiration and respect Mr. Wolfson has garnered for his work over the years as Clark County’s lead prosecutor. In his role as top prosecutor, Wolfson heads the largest and busiest law firm in the state of Nevada. He manages a $65 million budget and over 700 employees, including 170 attorneys, in four different divisions who, combined, handle nearly 100,000 cases annually.

Local Philanthropist Pays Tribute to the 1 October Victims and Their Families

Las Vegas, October 01, 2022 – On the 5-year anniversary of the 1 October shooting, Las Vegas businessman Antonio Accornero honored the victims and their families by pledging his ongoing support of those affected by the tragedy. At the time of the horrific incident that has impacted the entire Las Vegas community, Accornero and his business partner, Giancarlo Bomparola (co-owners of Siena Italian Authentic Trattoria & Deli), donated half of the proceeds generated by their Eighth Annual Italian Car and Motorcycle Show Event to the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund.

 

Today, they vow to continue their support. “This tragedy has affected so many people in our community, and we will keep providing any resources we can to those in need,” said Accornero. “I especially want to honor the fallen heroes of the Police Department.” Mr. Accornero is a recognized supporter of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and his philanthropic contributions over the years have not only benefitted the community as a whole, but a significant portion of his donations are directed to the LVMPD, its officers, and their families.

Nevada Republican Club Hosts Luncheon Honoring Sheriff-Elect Kevin McMahill

Las Vegas, September 6, 2022 – The Nevada Republican Club hosted a luncheon honoring Sheriff-Elect Kevin McMahill at the Ahern Hotel in Las Vegas on Tuesday. The event provided guests the opportunity to network, as well as to interact with Sheriff-Elect McMahill on a personal level. Supporters were eager to hear what McMahill has planned for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department when he assumes office in January of next year. “I’ve had a chance to take a much-needed vacation with my family,” McMahill said, “but I’m ready to get to work and solve some of the biggest problems in our community.”

 

A longtime friend of McMahill’s, Antonio Accornero, was in attendance to show his support of the Sheriff-Elect. “Kevin is the most qualified person for this job,” said Accornero, “and I know we’re going to see positive results when he takes over the position of Sheriff.”

Las Vegas Entrepreneur Recognized at Annual Lunch with the Sheriff Event

Las Vegas, August 16, 2022 – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation hosted its annual “Lunch with the Sheriff” Benefit on Tuesday at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa. The event started in 2016 with over 100 guests uniting to show their support for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Sheriff Joe Lombardo. This tradition continues annually, as community leaders step forward each year in support of the LVMPD Foundation.

 

This year, Antonio Accornero was recognized for his long-standing support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and he was awarded the distinction of being honored as a Founding Member of the prestigious 100 Club. “100” signifies the call sign for the LVMPD Sheriff, and membership to the 100 Club is only offered to generous donors who invest in public safety annually. “It’s an honor to be recognized today, but the true credit goes to the men and women of Metro for the important work they do and the sacrifices they make to protect and serve our community,” said Accornero. “I am always here to support our police department.”

Las Vegas Businessman Collaborates with United Way of Southern Nevada

Las Vegas, August 11, 2022 – Local businessman and philanthropist Antonio Accornero met with the President and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada, Julian High, on Thursday to discuss plans to collaborate on future fundraising events. Mr. Accornero is a major contributor to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a community partner of United Way of Southern Nevada, so it was a natural progression for him to become involved with UWSN and their efforts. “United Way is doing such crucial work in and for our community, partnering with dozens of nonprofits in Clark County. LVMPD Holds Ceremony for Graduates of the Citizens’ Police Academy

Las Vegas, July 21, 2022 – The LVMPD Citizens’ Police Academy graduated its first class of 2022 on Thursday evening. The Ceremony took place at the Jerry Keller Training Center of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and recognized 27 outstanding citizens for their achievement. One of those students was Antonio Accornero, who, as a longtime supporter of the LVMPD, was humbled by the experience. “I’ve always appreciated what police officers do to protect us and our families, but going through this program has given me a deeper respect for the sacrifices they make every day,” said Accornero. “I’m happy to now have a much closer connection to the Police Department.”

Local Philanthropist Continues Support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department

Las Vegas, July 12, 2022 – Las Vegas businessman Antonio Accornero presented a check to the LVMPD’s Women of Metro on Tuesday, as a show of his continuing support of the Police Department. Not only did Accornero donate to the Women of Metro, but he also generously twice-matched the gift with additional checks: one to the United Way of Southern Nevada and one to Child Haven. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department works very closely with both of these organizations, and Mr. Accornero’s donations will assist with citywide events held throughout the year.

 

“It’s very important to me to give back to my hometown, and I’m happy to be in a position to do that,” said Accornero. “I’m eager to continue fostering my relationship with Metro, as well as developing an ongoing connection with their community partners.”

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Volunteers Honored at Luncheon

Las Vegas, July 08, 2022 – Siena Italian Restaurant hosted the First Annual LVMPD Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Friday for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department volunteers who have selflessly lent their time and resources to the Department. Mary Ballinger, LVMPD Administrative Assistant and coordinator of the event was pleased with the turnout. “It’s very important for us to recognize all of the people who have done so much for the Police Department,” Ballinger said. “Without the engagement of community volunteers, the LVMPD wouldn’t be able to operate as effectively as it does.”

Local entrepreneur Antonio Accornero generously donated his restaurant as the setting for the event. “As a longtime supporter of Metro, I am more than happy to host this luncheon as a ‘thank you’ to all of the people who contribute their efforts to the Police Pepartment,” said Accornero. “When we all work together, we help the police to make our community a safer place.”

Las Vegas, June 10, 2022 – The Clark County, Nevada Primary Election is being held on June 14, 2022, and candidate Kevin McMahill is the clear frontrunner for the position of Sheriff, as evidenced by early polling numbers. The post is being vacated, with current Sheriff Joe Lombardo running as a Republican candidate for Nevada Governor. Friday evening, a “Meet and Greet” was held at the prestigious Stirling Club in Las Vegas, and McMahill spoke about his qualifications for the position of Sheriff, detailing his thirty years of experience in law enforcement. He took time to answer concerned citizens’ questions, and he outlined his plan for making Clark County a safer community under his watch.

Kevin McMahill Elected As Next Clark County Sheriff

Las Vegas, June 16, 2022 – Retired Undersheriff Kevin McMahill secured his position as the next Clark County, Nevada Sheriff after earning the majority of the votes cast in the Primary Election, held June 14th. McMahill was declared the outright winner in the three-man race, having captured nearly 60 percent of the votes and meeting the majority threshold in the nonpartisan race (fellow candidates included Tom Roberts and Stan Hyt).

An influential patron of McMahill’s campaign for Sheriff was Antonio Accornero, who has been a loyal supporter from the beginning. “I’m proud to have been a part of Kevin’s campaign, but most importantly, I’m proud to be his friend,” said Accornero. “No one deserves this victory more than Kevin McMahill, and no one will do a better job as Sheriff.”
