LVMPD Foundation News
Las Vegas, September 18, 2026 – The LVMPD Foundation hosted its 6th Annual WATER Summit Friday at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa. The yearly event serves to bring together a diverse group of women from law enforcement, business, leadership, and public safety for education and connection, as well as to share their knowledge, insights, and experiences. In attendance were female officers, supervisors, and community representatives invested in the growth and advancement of women in policing. The event has attracted the attention of prominent business leaders like Antonio Accornero, who, once again this year, sponsored a table at the Summit. “It’s vital to promote diversity and inclusion in law enforcement,” said Accornero, “and I am happy to continue my support of the Women of Metro.”
This year’s event was emceed by Beth Fisher, Emmy Award-winning former news anchor and Community Relations Specialist for Sheriff Kevin McMahill and the LVMPD. Special guest speakers at the Summit included: Salley Allen, Founder of The Mindset Conference and author of the MINDSET Framework; Deanna Cantrell, formerly Chief of Police in California and Arizona communities and now Director of Law Enforcement Partnerships for Axon; Kristen Corral, TEDx speaker, entrepreneur, and co-founder of the award-winning Tacotarian; and the Honorable Linda Marquis, who has been serving as District Court Judge in Department B of Nevada’s Eighth Judicial District Court, Family Division, since 2015.
Guests also welcomed this year’s featured speaker, Sasha Larkin, who brings an incredible background in leadership and public safety. She most recently served as the Director of Intelligence and C4 Operations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Prior to joining FIFA, she dedicated more than 25 years to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where she ultimately served as an Assistant Sheriff.
Attendees of the Summit were inspired to rise in the ranks and were introduced to valuable strategies from industry experts with decades of experience. Key themes were: guidance and support for development, balancing professional commitments with personal life, the future of female police officers, overcoming imposter syndrome, and the importance of mental health awareness. In addition, guests were able to increase their personal and professional networks to reach their goals, as well as access opportunities for success when preparing for promotion. Lastly, one of the most valuable messages of the day was the importance of having a strong mentorship program for female officers.
Over the course of just a few years, the WATER Summit (formerly the Ladies in Leadership Law Enforcement Summit) has grown significantly, with this year’s event garnering a record number of participants. Empowerment of women in law enforcement equals success in the police department, which translates to success in the community. Never underestimate the strength of women!
