Siena Italian Authentic Trattoria Holds Second Fundraiser for the Re-election Campaign of Las Vegas D.A. Steve Wolfson

Las Vegas, October 10, 2022 – As Election Day draws near, political candidates are counting on fundraising events in the final push for donations and votes. Once again, Siena Italian Authentic Trattoria co-owners, Antonio Accornero and Chef Giancarlo Bomparola, hosted a VIP event at their restaurant Monday evening as a fundraiser for the re-election campaign of incumbent District Attorney, Steve Wolfson. Attendees included prominent Las Vegas lawyers, judges, and business owners – a sign of the admiration and respect Mr. Wolfson has garnered for his work over the years as Clark County’s lead prosecutor. In his role as top prosecutor, Wolfson heads the largest and busiest law firm in the state of Nevada. He manages a $65 million budget and over 700 employees, including 170 attorneys, in four different divisions who, combined, handle nearly 100,000 cases annually.

Wolfson joined the Clark County District Attorney’s Office in February of 2012, upon appointment by the Clark County Board of Commissioners. He was chosen to serve the three years remaining on a four-year term vacated by the previous District Attorney, who retired. Clark County voters elected Wolfson to the position in November of 2014 in a landslide victory where he came away with over 72% of the votes. He began serving his first full four-year term in January of 2015.

At Monday’s gathering, Wolfson detailed his plans to continue his work for the community he has called home for over forty years. He said he is running for D.A. after a decade on the job because he believes that his good judgment is needed to curb rising crime rates, particularly coming out of the pandemic. “Although violent crime in many major cities is up, Las Vegas is not at the top of that list,” Wolfson declared. “My leadership, my experience, and my good judgment are what our community needs at this time to generate a downward trend in criminal activity.”

Wolfson believes he has a responsibility as the District Attorney to balance two important priorities: public safety and true justice reform. In fact, under his leadership, the office has introduced many reform programs to address disparities within the criminal justice system. Throughout his years in office, D.A. Wolfson has made reform his priority. Recognizing that reform requires action, Wolfson has been instrumental in creating several programs that provide solutions to problems in areas of the criminal justice system that were lacking in true reform.
