Las Vegas, January 9, 2024 – Properties around the Las Vegas Valley showed support for the law enforcement community on Tuesday by lighting up buildings and marquees in honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Across the country on January 9th each year, citizens take the lead to show support of law enforcement officers of every rank and file who have chosen a profession that puts their life on the line every day for their communities. They've answered a call to public service that is demanding and often unappreciated.

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was created by multiple agencies in 2015 in order for the public to express gratitude to law enforcement officers throughout the United States. Once again this year, Las Vegas residents and business leaders came together in a show of support to thank officers for their service and to acknowledge all of the daily sacrifices they make for the community.

Local entrepreneur Antonio Accornero attended an event hosted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Foundation downtown at the Mob Museum. As a Founding Member of the prestigious 100 Club, Accornero was honored to take part in the celebration. “The men and women of Metro go above and beyond every day to keep our city safe, and I’m here to thank them for their service and offer a token of my respect.”

For the entire day of January 9, strip resorts, downtown properties, and businesses around the valley illuminated messages of appreciation on their marquees, and buildings lit up in blue to express support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. For the first time ever, the LVMPD and the Fremont Street Experience partnered together for a presentation at Third Street Stage to display a special message on the Viva Vision Canopy. President and CEO of the Fremont Street Experience, Andrew Simon, was on hand for the festivities and commented, “It’s important to highlight all the work police do to keep our visitors safe.”

The residents of the Greater Las Vegas Area couldn’t agree more, and local leader Antonio Accornero extends his deepest gratitude to law enforcement officials for their unwavering dedication. As a staunch proponent of making the city of Las Vegas safer for everyone, Mr. Accornero is committed to continuing his support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and is looking forward to what 2024 has in store!
